FAQ

  • First company with ZERO Hollywood accounting. To the best of our knowledge, again, NEVER been done.
  • First company to eliminate any conceivable chance of the casting couch.
  • First company to ever give cast & crew the odds of success that we do....as in ever....1 in 100 or less chance to (co)star in a film as the supporting actor? Nothing even close, anywhere.
  • The first company to ever give a writer the opportunity to have their screenplay made into a film from a contest with 1 in 300 odds.
  • First company to change the way films are made and give underdogs a platform like we have.
  • First Company to globally disrupt the traditional way of Hollywood filmmaking.
  • First company to make music a consistent revenue generator for every film we make. We intend to monetize the score on EVERY film, giving the composer global exposure. We do not know of another film company that has ever done this.
  • First company to utilize influencers on the screen in a consistent and macro way, taking advantage of their micro community fanbase and placing them in our films, giving them parts and the ability to promote themselves, self-servingly to promote our films that they are now in. To our knowledge, this has never been achieved on a consistent basis. There has been a "one off”; however, we intend to utilize it heavily on EVERY film.

So, a great analogy is Star Search meets America’s Got Talent for the film business. Quite simply, a new way to break into Hollywood. How does it work?

Producers, directors, camera people, lead, supporting and day player actors and actresses, gaffers, runners, makeup, hair, and more all submit applications to be in our upocoming movie —-WERESHARK. . We host an open “casting call” competition with odds as low as 1 in 50 to a max of 1 in 100 to land a dream job working on a full-length feature film. Candidates apply online with samples of their best work and credentials. We’re looking for new talent who may not know the “right people'', may not have representation and/or don’t have a pedigree, but have talent, passion and a determination to break into the movie industry. Each registrant who submits for their dream job on a film pays a99.99 fee to compete against 49 to no more than 100 other candidates in their category. Now, we’ve all watched America's Got Talent or American Idol try out events, and there are literally thousands of people competing. With stardom we’ve taken the odds from 1-in-a-million to 1 in 100, at the most. We close submissions when a category is full, then start reviewing the candidates to build our cast & crew. If all the categories fill up, we cap out at 800 submissions, and we’ve just hired much of our cast and crew with fresh talent ready to make a movie! *

Each category is different, but here are some examples; we are looking for a 2nd assistant director at 1 out of 50, a number of amazing new actors and actresses at 1 of 100. The crew is no different, camera, sound, makeup gaffers, runners, etc. at odds of 1 out of 50 or 1 out of 100. Your cost of submission is $99* which gives you a chance to compete with just a few others in your category VS. hundreds or thousands, stacking the odds heavily in your favor of landing a valuable role in a feature film, with guaranteed worldwide distribution. Additionally, all Stardom Films submitters, whether chosen for a role or not, join the Stardom Films Alumni for life, and receive an exclusive invite to a networking party shortly after the film wraps giving you access to experienced directors, producers, cast & crew as well as other high-profile individuals in the industry—-MIn 350 registrants to green light. . Beyond the food, fun and live music, you’ll get to rub shoulders and chat with people who might very well open new doors for you in your quest for Stardom.

* Hint, the first 100 submissions only pay $65.00,

So, why can’t I just buy more positions at £99.99 to increase my odds even more? Because Stardom doesn’t want someone "buying" their way into a film. That is literally the opposite of why we are here. Stardom Films is here to level the playing field, eliminate the casting couch and give everyone their fair shot. If your skill and talent allow, you may purchase two (2) submission spots in different categories i.e.: Director & DP or Production Assistant & Actor, increasing your odds by displacing another potential registrant, but no registrant is allowed to submit twice in the same category.

Stardom Films is looking to keep and grow a solid team, the Stardom Crew, if you will, and use that team on many films. There will be over 30 slots with respect to crew positions. If that’s your path, we suggest you submit for your chosen role to potentially work on a film, allowing us to get to know you and see you shine. Alternatively, you can also contact us through support@stardom-uk.com and submit your resume. Either way, you will be judged based on talent and integrity. As each submission threshold is attained, we will be making more and more films, sometimes many at one time. In that event, we would hope to expand our Stardom Crew exponentially!

Yes, each film is on a separate budget, so all roles in the competition phase are a paid submission. However, all Stardom Films members (a paid submission position) are part of the Stardom Films family for life, and become Stardom Alums with valuable benefits, potentially including special submission rates, advanced notice of upcoming projects, and more. We are sensitive to the fact that $99* is a lot of money, and we want to bring value and opportunity to all Stardom community members.

* The first 100 submissions are only $65.00, and spots fill up fast, so like Jenny said; “Run Forrest, Run”.

If Steven Spielberg or Brad Pitt sends us their money for a director or acting role, they will both be turned down. We will, however, keep their money, throw it into the kitty for crew lunches, thank them for their interest in Stardom and then invite them to one of our post-production Networking Parties! We were created for the underdogs, the Average Joe in Dodgeball, Rocky Balboa in Rocky, Jamal in Slumdog Millionaire and all the other unsung heroes and undiscovered talent. Somebody had to give them all a shot, and that’s the reason Stardom was created! Stardom is the new ultimate equalizer for someone looking for their honest shot to make it in the one-in-a-million chance entertainment business.

Not even close. It is 100% subjective. Make no mistake, we are here to make quality films, so we look at talent! Our panel of reviewers and judges are in the industry and understand what it takes to put together a production team able to create a film. We're all about talent and skill. We will not ask questions about your age, race, religion or sexual preference. We only care about talent.

That depends on when you get sick. As long as more than 50% of the film is finished and your sickness does not shut down production for more than 7 days, then you will still receive payment due and get your film credit as outlined in your agreement, if applicable. If your illness lasts longer than 7 days, Stardom Films has the option to replace you and continue filming with a new cast or crew member. Whatever you were paid is yours to keep, but you would not receive film credit or get paid for the days you did not work.

Then save your money and do not submit for a job you don’t have time for right now. Great news is, this is the first of several films we plan to film in Mississippi, so there’s always a future opportunity.
Production on WERESHARK 1 & 2 should begin around September, and we expect to run for 6 weeks. We need serious people here; this is Show BUSINESS. Films can be a lot of fun, but this is also a serious business and on any single film there are dozens of cast, crew, staff, support and vendors who all have to be 100% committed or the film could shut down. If you're selected as crew, we expect you to make a commitment, participate fully and take this seriously. On the talent side (depending on the role) you may only need to commit 3-5 days for a day player role or supporting actors

Once you’ve submitted for a role in one of our projects, you're part of the family! In the case of WERESHARK, Stardom Films USA will endeavor to execute an exclusive networking party for the Stardom Films USA Alumni, which is defined as all registrants who paid their entry fee and submitted materials for any role to be part of WERESHARK—min 350 registrants must submit to greenlight the party.

This event will be set post the closing of the registrants’ submittals on the site. Note: a minimum of 350 registrant submittals are required to guarantee said party and anything less than that is at the sole discretion of Stardom Films USA. The party will be held in the USA and be announced within 90 days of the closing of the registrations.

This networking party will include:

Experienced and active producers, directors, writers, film experts and other people associated with the film industry, potentially to include cast & crew of the film WERESHARK and other celebrities, which may include supermodels, social media influencers and other high-profile individuals. And of course, there will be live music, light appetizers/snacks and beverages, beer or cocktails.

Qualifications to attend: You’ll need to be a Stardom Films USA Alumni. Invitees will be required to RSVP via email within 30 days of announcement of the party which will come from Stardom Films - USA and sent to submission alumni’s registered email address and posted on the website under Stardom Films USA Alumni.

Other benefits include advanced news and notice of future film projects and potential special rates on future submissions, access to master class sessions with producers and directors, special access to live events and possible small group coaching to help you refine your craft and/or submission materials. Stardom truly wants each and every one of you to make it to the big screen. And we shall do whatever we can on our end to support your dreams and make them a reality.

Ohhhh, this is when it gets fun! The submissions deadline for WERESHARK is TBD and shortlisted candidates will be notified by TBD. When cast & crew are hired (and these are all paying jobs), everyone on the crew will receive a full packet with an overview of the script and the production schedule (Keep in mind we are a start-up, so travel and accommodation are not First Class or Four Star, but if you are more than 40 miles from our location, we will pay for your travel to and from the filming location and provide lodging and meals when on set.

Let’s think positive here and say when you are hired for your dream cast or crew position, you will now be a working, paid part of the film industry! Congratulations! Imagine for a moment how that will feel! The cast & crew will be paid, at minimum, the going rate for the industry (for the days worked or by a week contract) and we will accommodate all meals while you are working or on set. All these details will be in writing in a formal agreement (we do what we say we are going to do, and always put everything in writing!). You will be paid within 14 business days of us receiving your invoice once you complete your role. You will receive screen credit (as outlined in your agreement). And, of course, will be invited to the wrap party, the red-carpet film premiere, and the Stardom Films networking party (doesn’t that give you goosebumps, I mean seriously, the RED CARPET)?!?!

One of our Stardom team members will call each person chosen for a role, any role! Yes, we did say call, (an old-school telephone call can be a good thing). You may be contacted as part of a shortlist and invited to talk to our producer and director (or other relevant HODs). The review and selection process will be final around TBD, so if your phone rings with an unidentified number around then, you had best pick up! Either way, you will also receive results, next steps, news and updates via email.

The funds for WERESHARK are in the bank, held in escrow accounts. All funds collected through submissions go into an account governed by our legal counsel and monies are only disbursed after we reach 300 submissions. So, the short answer is, we’ve already got the first two films covered and banked. The long answer is check out our panel of experts and check out their IMDB's. Look at our partner studios, producers, directors and all the testimonials. We are a passionate and experienced group who are committed to changing this industry, making a bunch of great films and discovering new talent. Every dollar collected is going to our cause! When you win your first academy award you can invite us to your villa in Ibiza!

No, Stardom reserves the right to make a film whenever we feel ready, but our stated goal (on this film) is 800 registrants. Now, understand what that means, if we make a film with 800 registrations, then your odds just went up substantially in every category. If only 100 people applied to be the leading woman in the film, your odds are 1 in 100.

Great question with a cool answer. Yes. Each film we make is with the intention of GLOBAL distribution, to make a lot of noise and a lot of money. As such, which is great for you, by the way, we intend on having a celebrity in every single film we make. They may not be an A-lister, but we do have connections and we are going to ask… A friend told me you can’t make a quality film for £500k, you need much more than that. What do you say to that? Is your friend an experienced movie producer? Has he or she made a real movie in the last 5 years? Well, we have. And we know we can do it again, and again, and again. Our producer partner has executed multiple movies and our combined firepower puts us over 50 movies aggregately. Thank goodness nobody told the five young filmmakers who made The Blair Witch Project that great movies can’t be made on a low budget! That movie has been seen by millions of people around the world and has grossed over $450 million to date.

You tell us. We couldn't find anything even close! You can’t compare any current film festival or screenplay competition to Stardom. We are totally unique. Stardom was conceived and created by a frustrated writer who was tired of getting ripped off or screwed over by the Hollywood system. Our founder designed this for YOU. We figure it's time someone stood up for all the Rocky’s, the Rudy’s and underdogs everywhere. We’re okay being the odd man out, as long as it means you get a shot to show us what you have. It's time to shine and let the world see the talent you have. Like Denzel said in Remember the Titans; "It's our time."

We love this question. There are 7.5 billion people in the world today. How many unknown actors get to be a supporting actor or actress in a feature length movie? How many undiscovered Quentin Tarantino’s are out there with the next Pulp Fiction in their heads? One in a million? One in 10 million? Take a look at how close your dream really is:

WERESHARK ROLES

Supporting Actor 2 200
Supporting Actress 2 200
Actor Day Player 2 200
Actress Day Player 2 200
Musical Score 1 20
Dancer 3 20
2nd Assistant Director 1 20
2nd Assistant Camera 1 10
Production Assistant/Runner 3 20
Script Assistant 1 20
Production Coordinator 1 10
Boom/Sound Assistant 1 10
Make Up Assistant 1 10
Wardrobe Assistant 1 10
Hair Assistant 1 10

The odds can never be greater than 1 in 100. Once Stardom has 200 submissions in this category, we close it. You will only be competing against 99 other actors/actresses to earn your place to be in a Stardom feature length motion picture! Boom! You are welcome! Each 100 registrants will have 1 singular registrant selected, “if” the talent is there. Remember, this is subjective, NOT a lottery. After 1 registrant is selected, the next tranche of 100 registrants will have another registrant selection…

All auditions will be viewed by one of our panel of film experts, including producers, director and casting director. We look at your trailers, your headshot, bio, all of it. The casting process is 100% subjective, and if you have that “Star” quality, we believe that we will see it. Honestly, the "Hollywood experts" turned down Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Vin Diesel, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Anniston and so many others early in their careers, and I think we can agree, the “experts” got it wrong. We rely on people who are immersed in film and the industry, who love films and enjoy the casting process like we do, and who have a real passion for being involved.

Ohhhh, this is when it gets fun! The submissions deadline for WERESHARK is ________and shortlisted candidates will be notified by________ It is likely a shortlisted group will be invited to speak to our producer and director before final selection. If you are chosen to be an actor, a Stardom team member will call you, like, on the phone. When cast & crew are hired (and these are all paying jobs), everyone on the crew receives a packet with an overview of the script and the production schedule __________ All cast and crew are paid basic travel expenses from your home to the set location if you are over 40 miles from our location. Keep in mind we are a start up, so travel and accommodation are not First Class or Four Star, but we will pay for your travel to and from the filming location and provide lodging and meals on set.

You will receive screen credit, and be invited to the wrap party, the red-carpet film premiere, and the Stardom Films networking party (doesn’t that give you goosebumps?!?! Pending the success of the film, you may even be invited to star in another film. All we ask is don't forget Stardom Films when you become the next Brad Pitt or Salma Hayek!

Not for the same position or category, but you can apply for up to two (2) different positions individually. For example, you can apply for supporting actor/actress as well as actor/actress day player roles in two separate registrations at $99 each. Stardom doesn’t want someone "buying" their way into a film. That is literally the opposite of why we are here.

Once you’ve submitted for a role in one of our projects, your part of the family! In the case of WERESHARK, Stardom Films USA will endeavor to execute an exclusive networking party for the Stardom Films USA Alumni, which is defined as all registrants who paid their entry fee and submitted materials for any role to be part of WERESHARK. Never higher odds for an acting role. Period—on this particular film. How do you like those odds? We aim to please.

You get full on-screen credit! You finally get to see your name on the big screen! You’ll be invited to the movie premiere, of course, so you’ll have your first Red Carpet moment! And you will get paid as an actor for your work on the film. Since you might be new to this process, when cast & crew are hired (and these are all paying jobs), everyone on the crew receives a full packet with an overview of the script and the production schedule ___________). You’re only a few steps away. Scroll up to any of the gold registration buttons and fill it out. You'll receive a confirmation email with login details to your back office where you’ll find details on the submission process and what you need to submit for your role. Then simply pay your submission fee and upload your performance reel and/or samples of your work and, bingo, you are part of the Stardom family!

Are you serious? If you’re a musician, you know the answer to that question! Music can set the tone and tempo for a great story! Think of Jaws, Rocky 1 or 3, Star Wars, Chariots of Fire, A Star is Born....

Okay, I’m a musician, a great one! How do I get access to this? You’re only a few steps away. Scroll up to any of the gold registration buttons and fill it out. Then simply pay your submission fee and upload your performance reel and/or samples of your work and, bingo, you are part of the Stardom family!

I need to know the script I’m composing for. How do I get this information? The treatment will be posted on the Stardom site and music composers can use their imagination. In the case of WERESHARK, think Jaws meets werewolves.. If it makes sense and you think you can compose something great for our theme and subject, that is music to our ears, and we can’t wait to get samples of your work! We will be working with you in post-production stage - we completely understand you can’t deliver final music to us based on an idea. At this stage we want to hear your style, get an idea of what you can create, then once we’re in the edit we’ll be teaming up with you to create some magic!

Your music in our film, wherever it makes sense, of course. You receive full screen credit in the beginning as per Hollywood musician rights dictate, you’ll be invited to the wrap party, and have VIP status at the movie premier. And we will work with you to maximize the exposure to you and your music, and work with you to monetize the score to both our advantages.

No greater than 1 in 20, ever, and we honestly don't know of anything. You have a 1 in 20 chance of having YOUR music being the soundtrack of the film. Can you hear the orchestra hitting a crescendo now? We can! We are purposely ONLY accepting 20 submissions on this particular film for the music...just 20.

Musicians have historically been so mistreated by Hollywood. This sounds good. It is, and was that a question by the way? Yes, it is good, no, strike that...it’s great! Hollywood is on fire, and NOT in a good way. Great talent like you are tired of being mistreated, tired of NOT getting a fair chance and tired of being mistreated once you are selected. It's your time! Paraphrasing another one of our favorites…Your Star Is Born! Dancers
